Fr. Koterski gives talk at OLSWA

Fr Joseph Koterski, S.J., president of the American branch of the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars and member of the Philosophy Department at Fordham University, recently gave an open lecture on the thought of Pope Francis at the invitaiton of Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy.

Looking at Pope Francis' first major written work, the Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium, he argued that its primary focus on evangelization and mission points to a continuity within the church, for it harkens back to the missionary spirit that characterized Christian life for centuries.

He noted there was a coninuity in the thought of Popes John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis in terms of thier teaching on the New Evangelization.

He closed by urging all to "trust, still, in the Holy Spirit".
