OLSWA Teaching Positions offered

Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy is advertising two teaching positions for the 2017-8 academic year.

The first is:

LITERATURE POSITION FOR THE 2017-2018 ACADEMIC YEAR

Our Lady Seat of Wisdom (OLSW) may have an opening in Literature for the 2017-2018 Academic Year.  This would be a full-time, tenure-stream position at the Assistant Professor level, to begin July 1, 2017.

To be considered for the position, candidates must have a Ph.D in hand, and must be able to teach a wide variety of literature courses, including essay writing. Preference will be given to candidates whose expertise lies in an early area of literature such as Medieval or Renaissance literature, but that is not essential. Candidates must have a strong record of teaching, or show strong potential of good teaching.  The primary focus at OLSW is teaching, but research, writing, and intellectual and artistic engagement are seen as a natural complement to teaching.

OLSW is seriously Catholic and seeks faculty who are committed to a sense of vocation in which their professional academic work and their personal faith are of one piece. All instructors at OLSW are expected to affirm in writing their fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and to teach in full accord with it.

Our Lady Seat of Wisdom offers university-level education in the Catholic tradition of the liberal arts.  OLSW has been given conditional approval by the Province of Ontario to award a Bachelor’s Degree in Catholic Studies (we expect to meet the conditions for final approval in a matter of weeks). The position will remain open until it is filled.  Potential candidates are encouraged to apply immediately.  Salary is commensurate with experience, within the context of OLSW’s nature as a non-profit apostolate.  In accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents in Canada.

To apply, please send, by mail or electronically, a Curriculum Vitae, a cover letter of application, three letters of recommendation (two academic and one pastoral), and a one-or two-page essay on how your faith shapes your teaching, scholarship, and professional practice to:
